Planned Maintenance and Repairs, West Yorkshire
This contract comprises of the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to the West Yorkshire Police estate. The contract also comprises of some associated minor works.
West Yorkshire Police has a varied building stock of 147 buildings spread across 780 square miles. The premises are located throughout the Force Operational Area, which range widely in terms of physical condition and age with some consisting of several buildings on the same site.
West Yorkshire Police Authority currently own 12 large police premises in various locations throughout West Yorkshire which range in gross internal floor area from 4000m2 to 8200m2, The client also inhabits a further 22 medium sized buildings ranging in gross internal floor area from 1000 to 4000 square metres and 73 smaller buildings that range in gross internal floor size from 40 to 1000 square metres; all are included with in this contract.
Internally the buildings are predominantly made up of office facilities but also include, to varying sizes, specialist communication rooms, custody suites, laboratories, data centre’s, training facilities, houses, stores, garages and general welfare facilities.
Throughout the duration of this contract Esh Facilities has continuously liaised and worked with West Yorkshire Police’s internal Estates Department in order to effectively coordinate all aspects of the PPM and reactive works to the building stock. We also ensure constant communication with the team is present so as to deliver effective project management of the minor works schemes.
The Planned Preventative Maintenance service covers work to extend the life of the buildings, plant and equipment in a safe condition. We pride ourselves on providing a repair service that will go above and beyond in order to encompass unexpected breakdowns and faults and emergency 24/7 repairs, especially to critical services to ensure West Yorkshire Police can continue to deliver policing from its buildings in compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
Further to the emergency repairs and maintenance we also look to provide the broader work requirements on a right first time basis in line with our company ethos, comprising of fabric repairs, services and specialist services such as UPS, remote heating control, air/water hygiene treatments, fire risk arising works, lift maintenance and repair and security measures e.g. CCTV measures, access, barriers and gates.
Minor work projects that are undertaken as part of this maintenance contract comprise of the re-modeling, improvement, extension and overall general refurbishment of the existing facilities in order to meet the changing needs of police operations. Throughout the contract we ensure that we provide all of the necessary professional services, including but not limited to architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural advice and support to deliver the schemes in the most efficient and effective way.
