Community Engagement

It has been identified that skill creation is important in local economic development and as such Esh Group has designed and implemented programmes in partnership with Local Authorities and representative agencies in an effort to influence training infrastructure.

Esh Group realises the greater benefit of community engagement to our organisation. Our community engagement programmes cover:

Newcastle Eagles Sponsorship
The Newcastle Eagles basketball team tipped off the new season in September 2011 with a refreshed and revived team. The most successful basketball team in British history now host games at the new £30 million Northumbria University Sport Central venue.

Esh Group is extremely proud to be the team’s main sponsor, together with partner sponsors Northumbrian Water and Northumbria University Sports Central. We will be working closely with the Club to support continued growth in its wide ranging North East based community programmes. The work they carry out with young people, disadvantaged groups and the wheelchair basketball team is far reaching and we believe is an excellent fit with our ethos at Esh Group.

Staff Activities
Esh Group staff are always finding their own new and exciting ways to support the community and numerous charities, including:

    • Children In Need - For Children In Need 2009 staff from our marketing department organised and held a bake sale at our Head Office in Bowburn, which raised over £200.
    • Macmillan “Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning” – Following the success of our previous bake sale, staff at our Head Office in Bowburn took part in “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” 2010 raising £280 selling cakes and biscuits kindly donated by staff, as well as holding a raffle.
    • Coast to Coast – In 2010 a trio of staff successfully took up the C2C challenge, helping to raise a very impressive sum of money for some very worthy charities.
       -  Andy Pritchard (Business Developments) – £500 for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, Durham
       - David Halfacre (Esh Property Services) – £2,300 for COCO
       - Esh Facility Solutions Team – £485 for North East Air Ambulance Service
