Homes by Esh acquires land in County Durham’s Trimdon Village

Proposed designs for the site include three and four-bedroom detached houses as well as two-bedroom bungalows.

Esh Group’s private housebuilding division, Homes by Esh, has secured a 7.5-acre site in Trimdon Village, just six miles from Durham city centre.

Situated off Salters Lane, the site has been earmarked for housing and benefits from existing planning permission.

The proposed design features three and four-bedroom detached houses as well as two-bedroom bungalows, subject to an agreed amendment to the current planning permission.

Homes by Esh currently has live sites in Darlington and Gateshead and is anticipating high demand for the new development which will be known as Bluebell Gardens.

Nick Bradshaw-Hughes, land manager at Homes by Esh, said: “This parcel of land is an ideal setting in a prime village location, just a two-minute walk from local amenities. We have seen exceptional demand for our homes across our current sites in Darlington and Gateshead and are delighted to have the opportunity to deliver a range of properties in Trimdon Village that are high specification by design, greener and more economical than older homes.”

Bluebell Gardens will include a collection of Homes by Esh’s most popular house types, including The Southwark and The Arundel. These house types are available for show home viewings at Elder Brook Park in Darlington for those who wish to get a glimpse into the superior quality and spacious homes for modern families.

The Arundel is a four-bedroom property with integral garage which is designed to lend itself to the flow of family life with an open-plan kitchen/dining area and bifold doors to provide a seamless link to the rear garden. Whilst The Southwark is a four-bedroom home which benefits from a detached garage, a bay-window lounge and downstairs study room – providing the perfect flexible living arrangement for today’s hybrid working culture.

Open space will be maximised throughout the site with properties set to benefit from larger gardens, and more than half of the site will be maintained as open space with bespoke landscaping and walking routes.

Bradshaw-Hughes added: “We are a privately-owned housebuilder and pride ourselves on procuring a local supply chain – most of which being SMEs – that share our desire for excellence. When we bring forward sites for development, we want to positively impact the local area throughout the construction phase, by supporting local as well as on completion. We look forward to getting started.”

It is anticipated that work will get underway early in 2024 and any keen house hunters can register an expression of interest by emailing enquiries@homesbyesh.co.uk or alternatively, visit www.homesbyesh.co.uk to book a show home viewing at another development.
