Esh Construction hands over 12 new affordable homes in rural village of Huby

The Hayfields development has been delivered on behalf of Broadacres.

A development of 12 affordable homes which aims to ensure rural communities remain affordable and sustainable for future generations is now complete.

Located in Huby – a North Yorkshire village situated between York and Easingwold – the Hayfields scheme has delivered eight rented and four shared-ownership properties. The new two and three-bedroom homes have been allocated to people with a connection to Huby or the wider Hambleton area, with residents set to move in imminently.

The £1.8 million development has been delivered on behalf of Broadacres Housing Association. Designed with key architectural features to blend into countryside living, each new home features a landscaped garden area and parking facilities.

Gary Dobson, Divisional Director at Esh Construction, said: “This is a really important development for the village of Huby, in providing quality affordable housing for the local community. Delivered in the midst of the pandemic, the scheme has been a real team effort from all parties and the outcome is fantastic. We look forward to continuing our work with Broadacres on future schemes.”

Joy Whinnerah, Broadacres’ Development and Investment Director, said: “Our vision is to become the best rural housing association in the UK and Huby is an excellent example of how we are working hard to realise this. We would like to thank Esh Construction for delivering such a great development on our behalf.”

Esh Construction has worked in partnership with Identity Consult, Michael Dyson Associates Ltd and Billinghurst George & Partners to deliver the development.
