Esh Civils is underway with a number of schemes across the city, including phase three of Sunderland Strategic Transport Corridor (SSTC3) and are funding projects that address a wide range of community issues. This includes homelessness, social inclusion for teenagers, family health and social isolation amongst the elderly.
SSTC3 is a continuous dual carriageway link between the A19 and the Port of Sunderland due to be completed in 2021. The scheme, which include the construction of the Northern Spire bridge, will fully open up the regeneration opportunities of development sites in Pallion, Deptford, Farringdon Row and other sites south of the river.
Esh is well known for supporting communities where their work takes place and were one of the first companies in the UK to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Promoting Opportunity and Social Mobility.
Darush Dodds, Head of Corporate Affairs at Esh Group, said: “We’re very proud to partner with Foundation of Light who, like ourselves, are firmly committed to making life better for everyone in Sunderland.
“The projects running in this partnership are quite varied, but all have a similar purpose – to help people realise their potential and live healthier and happier lives – and we’re excited to see this unfold.”
This project will give opportunities for people from a broad range of backgrounds. Thanks to Esh, we have put together a plan that will have the maximum impact for those who need it."
