The project involves the construction of 44 new dwellings consisting of 2 blocks of 2 bedroom maisonettes, 2 blocks of two 1 and 2 bedroom flats and 6 Nr 2 bedroom hillside bungalows with the construction of new retaining structures and associated highway infrastructure to serve the new estate. Funding has been secured from Homes England.

The proposed development at Rothwell Grange is a wholly affordable housing scheme with properties being offered for both rented and intermediate tenures meeting the requirements of the Local Planning Authority affordable housing policy. The new constructed units are intended to be low energy and sustainable. The building’s thermal envelope will be designed to be airtight and highly insulated to reduce the heat load. It is proposed to heat the building to provide zero ozone depletion potential. The boilers will be efficient and supply heat to each room with independent heating controls to allow user controllability, within set parameters, to minimise energy usage.
