Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College is Calderdale’s only Secondary Special School, providing education for approximately 150 students aged between 11 and 19 years.
The scheme which comprises of a new sixth form school for pupils with Special Education Needs was required as the school’s current capacity was insufficient to cope with projected pupil numbers over the coming years.
The new sixth form was designed to support the student’s education, workplace activities and independent living aspirations.
The project comprised of the construction of a new purpose built U shaped, two storey sixth form facility to accommodate 70 pupils ranging from the age of 17 to 19. The new buildings footprint covered an area of 1304msq and encompassed all the associated hard and soft landscaping external works.
