About the role:
We are recruiting for an experienced residential new build housing Planner to support the effective delivery of our Housing, Extra Care, and Retirement Living projects. This role is integral to the successful planning and coordination of multiple projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, monitoring, and updating of project programmes, ensuring alignment with key milestones and NEC contract requirements. You will also contribute to the development of tender programmes, logistics strategies, and qualitative submissions as part of the pre-construction team.

What we will expect from you:
- Ability to handle information from multiple projects and sites
- Produce logically linked programmes, and sub routines, from first principles, identifying all contractual & key dates, milestones, resources, and critical path
- Liaise with design teams and other partners and eengage with specialist supply chain partners to understand their outputs and programme sequencing
- Assist in the production of other associated material, e.g. phasing plans, site, and traffic management layouts
- Visit and liaise with various design and/or construction teams to obtain progress information
- Assist project teams, where required, to produce target programmes and to drive these to completion
- Also assist project teams to produce their weekly and other short-term programmes
- Attend various meetings, both internally and externally e.g., progress, design
- Monitor, update and review programmes as required, to meet the operational, contractual, and commercial needs of each project, including progress and change management
- Be prepared to question the information provided and if necessary present alternative viewpoints for consideration by project teams and senior management
- Report progress on a regular basis
- Produce any supporting data that may be necessary for tracking & reporting progress, e.g. histograms, production graphs
- Identify & consider areas of programme risk and opportunity and advise the project team and senior management as appropriate
- Produce as built programmes
- Produce entitlement / delay & disruption programmes to enable the commercial team to reach financial agreements
- Produce programme commentaries or other narratives that may be required as programmes are issued
- Issue programmes to comply with internal and Client requirements and maintain registers and other records to suit
- Report and feedback other information that may be required to assist in monitoring projects and production of databases
- Use of Client programming systems if required
- Help develop the skills of junior members of planning staff

Qualifications:
- An experienced residential new build housing planner
- Construction related degree preferable but not essential
- Previous planning experience, preferably gained with a main contractor on projects up to £25m
- Experience in working across various types of residential construction projects
- A thorough understanding of construction methods, processes and techniques and the outputs that can be achieved
- Proficient in Asta Powerproject (MS Project also useful)
- Experience of the NEC contract and other common construction contracts such as ICE & JCT
- Good commercial awareness
- The ability to think logically is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast and accurate manner to achieve deadlines
- Ability to use MS Office package
- Any other training and experience necessary will be provided as required during employment
