Assistant Quantity Surveyor - (Closing date 02/05/2025)

Overall Objectives:

  • Opportunity and support for continuing relevant further education working towards a Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work along side other quantity surveyors and will report directly to the Commercial Manager.
Key accountabilities:

  • Produce costings and budgets
  • Assist in the production of quarterly valuations and ‘cost to complete’ exercises 
  • Subcontract enquiries and comparison
  • Produce sub-contract orders
  • Complete on-site measurements and assess payments to contractors
  • Produce sub-contract payments
  • Assist with land appraisals when required 
  • Attend meetings with senior managers and directors

General Responsibilities:

  • The Group is committed to achieving a high standard of Health and Safety in all its activities and the post holder will be expected to contribute to maintaining standards to ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation.
  • To take a full role in the implementation of personal development through appraisals and to participate in any identified training or development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Some experience of assisting Quantity Surveyors
  • Ideally with or progressing towards a relevant HND, Degree or equivalent 
  • Valid UK driving licence

  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Team Player
  • Able to manage your time and work to deadlines 
  • Resourceful
