SUPPORTING LOCAL EDUCATION

We deliver a suite of education programmes which help raise student’s aspirations, develop their employability skills and gain an insight into the construction industry and the diverse range of careers it has to offer.

Work Experience

Whether you are a student or a jobseeker, work experience can support your transition to the workplace; preparing you for the demands and expectations of the working world, helping you make informed career decisions by exploring potential careers and improving your confidence.

We provide opportunities for those aged 16+, organised in 5-day and 45-day blocks (T-Level) and can offer training, CSCS card tests, PPE and travel expenses to those who require additional support.

Building My Skills

Building My Skills is an established careers information and employability programme delivered collaboratively by Esh Group and a number of regional, national, and international businesses. Together we support schools to deliver good career guidance which helps students develop their employability skills and make informed decisions about their future.

We will partner with secondary schools to provide a full year group of Year 9, 10, or 11 students with 5 timetabled business engagement sessions throughout the academic year.

Each workshop is delivered by a different business guest, providing students with insight into different sectors and information about a variety of careers. Through support and advice from business role models, students learn invaluable employability skills which they can transfer and develop in their future career. We also provide resources which help students build their employability portfolio and an opportunity to experience a mock interview.

In response to the pandemic, we have created a virtual version of the programme in order to safeguard its delivery and engage a larger audience. ‘Building My Skills Digital’ is available to education providers via a secure login.

Get into STEM

Through our award-winning Get into STEM kits we positively shape career aspirations and develop skill sets essential for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers.

Get into STEM is a primary school programme which introduces Early Years Foundation Studies and Key Stage 1 students to construction through an interactive workshop and a construction-themed resource kit. A member of the Esh team will deliver a 40-minute workshop which will raise aspirations and encourage students to consider a STEM career.

Our STEM resource kits are loaned free of charge to schools for a period of 2-weeks after the workshop session, allowing classes to use it as part of the curriculum or free play. Each STEM kit contains bright and vibrant resources which are commonly used in construction, such as foam bricks, measuring equipment, literature and personal protection equipment.
