Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2, Darlington

Energy efficiency upgrades were delivered in 81 properties across Darlington and the wider Tees Valley in partnership with four local authorities.

The £2.1 million Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 project has seen Esh’s retrofit solutions division carry out improvements – bespoke to each property - across homes in Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.

All properties underwent retrofit assessments and technical surveys prior to installation. Air source heat pumps, smart heating controls, solar panels and insulation have been installed to improve Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings in off-gas grid homes in the region, helping residents reduce carbon emissions and improve living conditions.

The project was part of the Home Upgrade Grant scheme which supports national fuel poverty and net zero targets.
