Marking the first project secured through the third generation Innovation Chain North framework, 20 homes were constructed in Sheffield for Great Places Housing Group.

Built for affordable rent, the two and three-bedroom homes were designed with energy-efficiency as a top priority through a fabric-first approach.

A comprehensive social value plan was at the heart of the scheme in a bid to make a real difference to the local community. Outcomes included 133 weeks of employment for residents within 10 miles of site, 108 weeks for those previously unemployed, and apprentices clocked up 230 training weeks on site.

The nearby Wybourn Allotment and Orchard Project received a £6,500 donation to support mental health and sustainable living initiatives.
