Modern Homes, Enhanced Independence
Esh Construction was appointed by Thirteen Group to deliver a £4.3 million refurbishment of Bramley Court and Richard Court in Hartlepool.
The project included comprehensive mechanical and electrical upgrades, enhancing 94 assisted living and extra care homes for residents aged 55 and over.
Bramley Court offers 46 sheltered homes, while Richard Court provides 48 extra care apartments in the town centre.
The Detail
Investing in Quality, Comfort and Safety
The refurbishment of Bramley Court and Richard Court included major heating upgrades, new fire alarm and warden call systems, access controls, CCTV, and emergency lighting throughout communal areas.
All homes and shared spaces received new fire entrance doors, extensive internal decoration, and upgrades to windows, doors, guttering, and downpipes.
At Richard Court, apartments benefited from improved ventilation and smoke detection, with residents choosing new colour schemes for communal areas.
Esh Construction’s customer-first approach ensured minimal disruption, with clear communication and collaboration with residents and staff. The project forms part of Thirteen Group’s £55 million investment in the North East and Yorkshire, improving thousands of homes and supporting independent living for people aged 55 and over.
Our Impact
Creating Opportunities with Residents in Mind
More than 148 weeks of apprentice training were delivered, and over £2.2 million was reinvested in the North East through responsible procurement.
Esh invested £3,000 in time and materials to install a new potting shed at Bramley Court. The shed provides residents with a dedicated space to enjoy and benefit from. Esh’s refurbishment team maintained strong relationships with residents and staff throughout, ensuring clear communication and minimising disruption.
These efforts, alongside Thirteen’s commitment to creating great places to live, demonstrate the positive, lasting impact of the refurbishment on the local community. Esh’s customer care team also arranged several social events with residents, through coffee mornings and Christmas parties at both Bramley Court and Richard Court.
