Angel Street, Sheffield

The £800k project delivered a green corridor and sustainable drainage scheme at Angel Street in Castlegate.

The scheme incorporated colourful meadows and the installation of a sustainable urban drainage system, reducing the risk of floods. An improved environment for walking and cycling was created by widening and resurfacing the existing footway and cycleway, the installation of traffic calming measures, and improvements to street furniture.

Angel Street serves as a vital gateway to the city centre. This project was procured through the YORhub YORcivil2 framework, complemented by additional investment from the European Regional Development Fund and Sheffield City Council to extend the improvements to the Grey to Green Phase 2 project.
