Technical Director Dale Morris leads the architectural, engineering, and planning processes for new build housing developments within Esh's private housebuilding division.
Dale’s journey with Esh began through Esh Connexts, a social value initiative which helped young people explore careers in construction through hands-on experience and employability training. This opportunity paved the way for Dale to join the company in 2010 as an apprentice - and the rest, as they say, is history.
We caught up with Dale to hear more about his story so far which is proof that when we invest in people, we build more than just careers - we build futures.
It was a bit of luck really that I got involved with the Esh Connexts programme, the opportunity came at a time when I was looking for my next step following school.
I joined Esh as a Trainee Architectural Technician and, through my apprenticeship, I’ve completed six qualifications - all fully supported by the business. Studying part-time over eight years while working full-time, I progressed from ONC level right through to a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology.
I genuinely don’t think I’d be where I am today without the support Esh provided. Building up my qualifications alongside hands-on experience has seen me move from Trainee to Architectural Technician, then Design Manager, Technical Manager, and now Technical Director.
It’s taken a lot of hard work and determination - but it’s been incredibly rewarding.
