An apprenticeship is a paid job where you learn while you work. It combines hands-on experience with classroom learning to help you gain industry-recognised qualifications.

Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16 and over. Whether you’re leaving school, changing careers, or looking to gain new qualifications - there’s no upper age limit.

Yes. All apprentices are paid a salary. This includes paid holidays and access to our extensive range of company benefits.

It depends on the level and type of apprenticeship. An entry level qualification could take a minimum of 1-2 years to complete, but degree-level could take up to six years.

You’ll gain industry-recognised qualifications, such as NVQs, diplomas, or even degree-level qualifications, depending on the apprenticeship route. We’ll help you choose the right provider from a range of colleges and universities across the North East, Tees Valley and Yorkshire.

Our goal is to offer long-term employment to successful apprentices. 95% of our apprentices go on to secure full-time roles and build their careers with Esh.

We offer a wide range - from construction trades like plant fitting, ground working, plastering and civil engineering, to roles such as quantity surveying, site management, business and administration.

There’s no ‘best’ option - it depends on your goals, interests, and preferred way of learning. Apprenticeships are ideal if you prefer hands-on experience and want to start building your career straight away. You’ll gain practical skills, industry knowledge, and a qualification without student debt. Whereas, at university you’ll experience campus life as well as gaining a qualification. Both paths can lead to successful careers. The key is choosing the one that aligns with your ambitions and lifestyle.
