About the role:

To support the Frameworks Project and Streetworks Co ordinator as part of a small team within Customer and Service. You will provide both site and office support to our client, Northumbrian Water, ensuring all activities are efficiently coordinated and delivered on time to maintain smooth operational performance. Accuracy and timely preparation of information and reports are essential, along with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards across all tasks to minimise the risk of financial penalties.

What we will expect from you:

  • Supporting Streetworks Activities, along with wider team
  • Submit permit applications within required timeframes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor ongoing works to ensure adherence to agreed schedules, safety standards, and permit conditions
  • Liaise with local authorities, utility companies, and contractors to schedule and approve works on public highways
  • To build a trusted relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate traffic management requirements to minimise disruption to the public and ensure safe working environments
  • Attend site meetings to discuss and agree TM and permits with Local Authorities
  • Handle Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and resolve non-compliance issues, including Section74 fines
  • Work with Site Manager/Contract Managers/Project Managers/ Supervisors to ensure and maintain compliance with statutory regulations
  • Monitor quality and compliance, producing monthly and weekly resources as deemed necessary by management
  • Compete general administration tasks as required, updating corporate systems
  • Provide holiday cover for other roles within the team
  • Educate, promote and coach colleagues with best practise with regards to street works
  • Partake in a weekend rota to cover a day shift - currently 1/6
  • Control and manage the recording and rectification of defects

Qualifications:

  • Occupational experience in construction environment
  • UK driving license – essential
  • Street works qualification – preferred
