About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Communications Specialist to join Esh Group on a one‑year fixed‑term contract, providing maternity cover within our Corporate Affairs Team.

This is a varied and hands on role, where you’ll work closely with colleagues across all Esh Group divisions and external clients to generate engaging communications and PR content, secure positive media coverage and support PR activity on live construction sites across the North East and Yorkshire.

What we will expect from you:

  • Liaise with colleagues across the divisions for content ideation and PR planning
  • Source information and write accurate and engaging content for press releases, social media, internal communications messaging and website. Liaise with necessary stakeholders, both internal and external, to seek approvals
  • Organise PR opportunities with clients and key stakeholders and visit construction sites across North East and Yorkshire to manage such events on site
  • Develop engaging content for Esh’s LinkedIn channel and coordinate the Group’s social media activity alongside the Communications Team
  • Visit construction sites across North East and Yorkshire to coordinate media activities and obtain content for social media and PR planning
  • Coordinate and monitor outreach via a media monitoring platform, generating quality placements
  • Consistent application of Esh brand guidelines
  • Draft website copy and assist with the management of existing website content, including content uploads via Umbraco

Qualifications:

  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
  • A minimum of five years’ experience within a communications, PR or marketing environment
  • Evidence of strong organisational skills
  • Experience of social media and PR content creation
  • Experience of liaison with multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Experience of LinkedIn
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office based packages
  • Qualification in relevant subject area i.e., business, PR, digital marketing (desirable)
  • General understanding of the construction sector (desirable)
