Environmental Improvements

Deerness Fencing & Landscaping have worked with Derwentside Homes carrying out various environmental work incorporating fencing, landscaping and footpath improvements. We have undertaken fencing to over 600 properties and concrete footpath works on ad-hoc basis to various sites covering the Derwentside District.

Improvement works have been on-going since October 2012 which required us to carry out our own environmental survey on behalf of our client. This then allows us to provide the client with accurate budgetary information. Together with our client we have developed a phased programme of works to coincide with their desired spending capabilities and their residents needs.

The project involves the grubbing out and removal of trees, shrubs and hedges to accommodate the new fence lines. The takedown and removal of existing dilapidated fencing, which is removed to registered landfill sites or recycled wherever possible. The Supply and installation of new predominantly 1100mm high with the occasional 1500mm, and 1800mm high timber open boarded fencing, accompanied by single leaf and double leaf timber gates and finished with a decorative capping piece. The concrete footpaths repairs undertaken consists of; surveying the properties to highlight the need for either full footpath replacement or repair work to be completed. The full footpath replacement allows for the removal of the existing concrete/paving and under laying sub base to registered waste facilities (recycling sub base if possible), importation and spreading new recycled sub base and forming a new concrete footpath ensuring access/egress to and from the properties at all times. The repair works consist of; cutting patches of dilapidated concrete patches from the footpaths and replacing with new concrete patch. These works also include for new concrete steps where necessary.

Deerness are also contracted to undertake the required customer care related issues, ensuring little disruption to the tenant, neighbouring properties and the nearby public.
