ENGAGING LOCAL COMMUNITIES

We work with our clients and their community stakeholders to provide grant support, staff time through volunteering and provide an insight to those who want to learn more about an exciting development on their doorstep.

Grant Funding

Esh Communities is our local community grant scheme which funds hundreds of community projects every year.  Projects must be located in the vicinity of an Esh Construction scheme and help their local community recover from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Grants can be awarded to voluntary or community organisations (including registered charities/companies), schools, health bodies and Parish/Town Councils.

If you experience or anticipate any barriers with our application process, require help to make an application, or access our services and information, please contact constructing.local@esh.uk.com to discuss the types of support we can provide.

Volunteering

We work in partnership with our clients to support their local community by organising opportunities workforce volunteering. This helps our employees develop confidence and new skill sets, it improves team morale and provides an opportunity for our staff to engage in the local community – all volunteering opportunities are advertised via our internal communications platform ‘My.Esh’.

We have vast experience in organising opportunities for our workforce and supply chain to take part in volunteering activities. Almost all volunteering we deliver include at least 1 specialist with relevant knowledge of the volunteering opportunity and £500 budget for materials, specialist clothing or equipment.

Stay Safe

We deliver ‘Stay Safe’ presentations in primary schools located within 5km of our schemes to raise awareness of the dangers of construction sites with a view to reducing incidents, preventing anti-social behaviour and building stronger relationships with the local community.

Stay Safe presentations are delivered by our Constructing Local and site teams and last around 20 minutes, they are suitable for students aged 4-11. The fun and interactive presentations highlight the dangers of construction sites and provide guidance on how to avoid them. Students are encouraged to take part in a Stay Safe competition by designing a site safety poster.

Our local site team judge the posters with the best selected to be displayed on our site hoarding, students are invited to site to view their poster and receive a goody bag as a reward for their contribution.

If we are working near your school and you are interested in booking a Stay Safe presentation, please contact constructing.local@esh.uk.com or visit our Live Scheme’s page to find a site near you.
