In the digital world we live in today, your profile picture is often your first impression, both professionally and socially. There is the potential that your prospective employer may see your online profile prior to your selection, a good profile picture is essential to showing you in your best light.

Online Bullying

Many people don’t understand that hurtful comments made online, are still classed as bullying. Anything commented on a public profile online, is easily accessible forever. Think before you type! Would you say this in person, and would you be happy to receive the comment in return?

Privacy Settings

Any information shared on your online profile is accessible to all until you establish your privacy settings. This includes any private information such as your date of birth, full name, location, e-mail address and phone number. Review your social media accounts as if you were a stranger either by looking at your profile on a friend’s or parent’s phone or e.g. go to your Facebook account and select ‘View As’ within your profile settings.
