Deerness Fencing and Landscaping celebrate their 40th anniversary this year. In 1976 Michael Hogan, John and James Duffy formed Deerness Fencing Ltd and in January 2010 Sones Landscaping Ltd merged with Deerness Fencing Ltd to form Deerness Fencing &Landscaping Ltd.

Part of Esh Group, the company was originally based at Newhouse Farm, Esh Winning. Managing over 90 employees they are one of the largest Fencing & Landscaping contractors in the North East of England, serving a wide variety of clients in both the private & public sectors across the North East and Yorkshire.

Managing Director Jim Bates said:

This is a fantastic milestone for Deerness Fencing and Landscaping from small beginnings in Newhouse Farm we now turnover £6,000,000 per annum and work for blue chip clients. Our success is down to the hard work and commitment of all of our staff.

Deerness Fencing & Landscaping have received awards for their Grounds Maintenance delivery at the University of Sunderland winning the Sunderland in Bloom Award in 2015 and the Northumbria in Bloom Award in 2014.
