Supply Chain

We always strive to take a collaborative approach with our suppliers, as we find that this benefits not only our local supply chain but also ourselves and our clients. We therefore aim to establish excellent relationships with those suppliers who work with us, as they are key to the delivery of successful projects for our clients.

Our local base and use of local suppliers necessitates prompt payment to ensure continuity of relationships with our supply chain. We believe that we benefit by having this as one of the key aspects of our business culture.

We also try to consider the location when sourcing products and services so that a minimum amount of travelling is involved in delivery, maximising the use of local suppliers to promote a sustainable supply chain.

Sustainable Procurement

We recently revamped the van fleet across a number of our companies, including Lumsden & Carroll, Esh Property Services, Stephen Easten Specialist Building and Esh Facility Solutions.

In deals totalling over £1.4 million, 84 new vehicles have been bought from three suppliers; Arnold Clark, Benfield Motors and North East Truck & Bus. All of the deals were with regional operations of each company. The vehicles purchased represent around 45% of Esh Group’s total van fleet.

“We’re obviously delighted with this deal, the team at Esh Group is true to its word; they work hard to spend within the region and support business ‘close to home’.  This is a significant order for our Newcastle based operations.

“We’re particularly pleased that Esh Group has chosen such a high proportion of our new ‘econetic’ range.  Since their release last year these vehicles have been well received and we will be interested to track their performance at Esh Group.”
